The NHL OldTimers

To mark my newest gallery on WellerPhotography, please welcome "The NHL Oldtimers".
On Sunday February 18, 2007, while on assignment at the Welland Arena for the Welland Tribune, I was able to hang out with some NHL Oldtimers who were there to sponsor a "Make a Child Smile" Event.

I have created a small gallery to host my selected photos from this event.
On this gallery, I have also included a small write-up on each former NHL'er.
This gallery will be hosted on my main gallery page for the time being, but will be eventually moved to a Sports Gallery, in which I am currently in the process of creating.

Feline Melancholy

This was a perfect opportunity to capture my cat "Matilda" in a few moments of "Feline Melancholy".

I had noticed her resting on the bed, after returning home from the laundrymat.

With my clean sheets in hand, I decided to pick up my camera instead and joined "Matilda" for some afternoon photos.

Isn't she a darling? :)

Hockey Night in Fort Erie!

BLACKHAWS vs METEORS

Despite the impeding snow and high winds on Saturday night, the Fort Erie Rosehill Auction Meteors just could not use their own speed and fire to stop the Thorold Blackhawks from taking the game. Home team crowds at the Leisureplex in Fort Erie on Saturday evening were mimimal, most likely due to severe weather warnings for most of the Niagara region. However, in true fashion, and perhaps in light of the groundhog predicting spring right around the corner, the visiting Blackhawks closed the game with a 5-1 lead over the Meteors.

Pond Hockey!

It was actually a lovely day out this past Monday January 29th, 2007. I decided to take advantage of the sunny blue-skied day and take a walk down into Martindale Pond, here in St.Catharines. I happened upon a group of guys, in their early 20's also enjoying the great weather by shovelling off the snow on the frozen Matindale Pond in order to have a fun game of ice-ball hockey. They happily agreed to let me take photos of their game. It was a fun game and was full of good old Canadian ice-ball hockey antics!
