"RECONNECTING FORT GEORGE"

On the First Day of Spring 2007, I decided to take a drive over to Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
Fort George National Historical Site of Canada, is one tourist attraction that always seems to leave a footprint into time upon every visit. The fort, which first started to be constucted in the late 1700’s by the British army, was later destroyed during the War of 1812 by the American forces.
Following the War of 1812, the Fort and much of the land surrounding the mouth to the Niagara River was used by the British and Canadian military. In the late 1930’s, during the Depression years, Fort George provided employment to those wishing to help to restore the fort to it’s original state. It has since become a National Historic Site of Canada.
